Professor of Occupational Health Nursing

 

​Dr Maria Malliarou is a Professor of Occupational Health Nursing, in Nursing Faculty of University of Thessaly, Greece.

She is a Director of Laboratory of Education and Research of Trauma Care and patient safety.

She participated in the European project TeleNursing: Digital Qualification of Nurses to Manage the Increasingly Demanded Telecare Services for Home Remote Monitoring 2022-1-De02-KA220-VET-000088728 as work package leader.

She represents the Department of Nursing of the University of Thessaly in the Florence Network, which is one of the oldest networks in which more than 52 Universities of Nursing and Midwifery in Europe participate.

She is the Erasmus Academic Coordinator and responsible for extroversion of the Department of Nursing. She is a Member of the European COPSOQ network. She is included in the Register of Certified Evaluators-Experts of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI) - HFRI-EX-02252.

She is a graduate of the Military Nursing Academy. She holds a Master's Degree (MSc) in "Health Informatics" by the Department of Nursing of EKPA and in the "Health Services Management" of the Cyprus Open University. She holds a PhD from the Nursing Department of EKPA. She has extensive clinical experience as she has worked for over 25 years in different clinical settings in Military Hospitals. Since 2014 she is an Adjunct Professor of the Postgraduate Programme “Health Services Management” of the Hellenic Open University. She has supervised more than 100 diploma theses of students at the Postgraduate Programme “Mental Health”, Postgraduate Programme “Primary Health Care” of the University of Thessaly but also at the Postgraduate Programme “Health Services Management” of the Hellenic Open University. She supervises 5 PhD candidates and 2 postdocs.
